The students enjoyed some learning and lunch with parents.
The students participate in a "Gallery Walk" where they get a chance to walk around and read their classmates personal narrative books. Jazzel is very interested in reading a story written by one of her classmates.
The students are using the scientific method to answer the the following question; Do mealworms prefer black surfaces or white surfaces?
Joelle participates in the leprechaun treasure hunt by counting up coins and dollar bills. Alina looks for the letter that matches the dollar amount to find out where the leprechaun hid the treasure!
If you haven't heard we have a sneaky Leprechaun in our classroom that likes to make a mess when we are not there! The Leprechaun decided to have our classroom reading buddies participate in There's a Wocket in my Pocket day whether they wanted to or not! Ben works on his mental math sort.
Chris uses the iPad to show and project his work on Measurement Bar Model problems while the other students check their answers.
Ashley builds her Valentine's Day Bingo board. David and Ben complete a 100 day graphing activity. Jaelyn works on a 100 chart puzzle
MacKenzie, Chris, Matt, Kendall and David work as a group to complete the challenging workbook pages during math time.
Jaelyn is excited for Hunter as they begin the new science unit of balance and motion by experimenting with and spinning tops. Austin colors his own top and watches as it spins.
Using the steps in the Scientific Method the students make a hypothesis, collect data and make a conclusion. Davian is in the middle of collecting his (yummy) data. Joelle wonders if she will get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop in 100 licks. She is in the middle of collecting her data.
